The Ciao' Rig

Ciao’ is the Italian spelling for the word goodbye. It pronounced chow. One of Captain Dick’s old boats ran over 60mph. It left a lot of his fishing buddies far behind always saying goodbye. Hence the name Ciao’.

The Ciao’ is a 30 foot Penn Yan Hardtop with a private head.

Ciao Rig

The Ciao’ is equipted with the best electronics available. We have a SI-TEX loran C’ navigational unit on board. A Si-Tex 8" color fish finder with speed, temperature, and plotting. We also have a Fish Hawk speed and temperature gauge for the downriggers and a marine radio.

The fishing rods are top of the line. They are Fenwick rods that are 8’6" with Diawa Line counter reels. We have 16 of the rods and reels set up with different line from Spiderwire to different pound monofilement. Four St. Croix Big Dipsy rods that are 10’. They are used with Diawa line counters with Spiderwire also. There are four downrigger roads with Diawa line counters.

The boat also has four walker electric downriggers and 14 rod holders around the boat. We also have two sets of different size planner boards and ten in-line planner boards.

Seven large tackle boxes give us quite an assortment of lures. I also use spinners with live bait. There are two large 120 quart coolers for fish.
